curriculum:
Our inverted curriculum allows students to attain career training first—allowing them to become qualified for a computer related profession in a matter of months. Once a student earns a certificate and start his/her career, they can return to Coleman to complete the general education and advanced technology requirements for an associate or bachelor’s degree through Coleman’s Distance Education program. Coleman also offers several Master’
s level programs. Currently, the University offers the following MS degrees: Masters of Science Information Systems Management (MSISM) and a Master of Science in Business and Technology Management (MSBTM) degree.
In addition, the University has a large variety of equipments, hardware, software, platforms, and other technologies to provide the students with maximum experience on the most prevalent computer systems used in business and industry. We have many qualified and friendly instructors, a powerful mainframe, and high-tech equipment to keep us on the cutting edge of technology.
Career Services:
Career Services provides a variety of career development opportunities for students and graduates, including: contact with local employers, resume writing, effective job-hunting techniques and interview preparation workshops, and individual career counseling sessions. We help place our students with over 1500 local companies and currently have over a 90% job placement rate!
What do Career Services Advisors do? They work with students and graduates to assist them in the job search process. They don’t get the job for you, but they do:
- Conduct professional development workshops on a variety of job search topics such as resume writing, job searching, and interviewing
- Locate and develop job leads
- Process job orders from local companies
- Screen and send out resumes for jobs that match qualifications and interests of students they are assisting
- Advise students and graduates about all aspects of career placement
- Keep students and graduates informed of extra job leads, local Job Fairs, articles and anything that may be of assistance in the job search process
- Meet with local employers to cultivate relationships and encourage them to hire Coleman University graduates
As students draw closer to graduation, they will have many questions about the types of employment opportunities that will be available to them and how to secure their first job in the world of information technology. Coleman’
s Career Services Advisors will help every step of the way.
